Meredith's boyfriend

Apparently, Meredith has a boyfriend. His name is Tommy and Macy, and he lives in South America. He takes her to Chick-fil-a, and buys her things because "That's what men do." Really Mere?? Where do you get this from, because it certainly isn't your mommy!!! :)

Melanie's birthday

I took Melanie out shopping for Meredith's birthday presents today, and since she knows hers is right around the corner, we started talking about her birthday. I asked her what she wanted from Mommy and Daddy for her birthday, and she said she wasn't sure what she wanted but she would think about it. So, she didn't say much for the next half hour, and all of a sudden, she exclaims, "Mommy, I know what I want for my birthday." I was expecting maybe a t.v. for her room or some Tangled toy, but she comes out with, "A trip to Paris." Gotta love a girl that thinks BIG! I gently explained that it was a great idea, but probably not what we had in mind for a 5th birthday gift, and she was okay with that. So a few minutes later she says, "Well, maybe you can take me to that place in Kennesaw that you went to for your birthday. That would be pretty close to Paris." (A side note: For my birthday, Eric took us to a hotel in Kennesaw with an indoor pool so we could go swimming in February.) I wish that Mel could always stay this sweet and innocent!!

New Orleans

I will admit, I was really not looking forward to going to New Orleans, just because I did not want to leave my baby girls! But, I had a fantastic time, and Eric and I had the best time together!

First of all, the best, most fantastic thing that happened while we were there.....I met Joey McIntyre from New Kids on the Block. (Sorry Theresa, the wedding was great, but.... :) I was in a bar (and yes, I was a teensy bit intoxicated) and saw him pass by the window, so I went running. We had just seen NKOTBSB in concert the night before, so I knew that it was him. I ran out of the bar screaming, "JOEY!" and he stopped, turned around, and said hi. Then I realized that he was also with Jon from New Kids, so I told them how great they were the night before, and asked if I could get a picture. They said sure, and me, being the responsible drunk that I am, left my camera at our condo so that it wouldn't get lost or broken. So I went running back into the bar, screaming "I NEED A CAMERA!!!!!" So my alarming screams sent everyone running outside, and Mary had her camera and got my picture made with my favorite New Kid. So then, as they were about to leave, I gave Joey a hug and a kiss on the cheek, and then of course as he was leaving, a little pat on the butt (I had to....I will never get a chance to do that again!) So then I texted my husband and told him I kissed another man, and apparently it irked him a little bit, until I mentioned that it was Joey McIntyre, then he just kind of rolled his eyes and said, "Well, you could have told me that before!" After that we went out, had a few more drinks at Pat O'Brien's, a really, really good talk, and then headed back to the condo.

The next day was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, which was a lot of fun, except for Blanche yelling at Eric the entire time, and that was pretty funny. Blanche was what we were all calling the guy running the show at the church, but his name was really Kevin. Everyone knew his name was Kevin, except for Eileen, who, on Saturday, kept calling him Blanche!! The wedding was beautiful, and the reception was great, and we all had a great time.

And, oh....my other claim to fame was being proclaiming myself the residential creeper in as many pictures as I could this weekend. I'm a little concerned because I am sure there are going to be lots of lovely pictures popping up of me sometime soon!!

Songs my kids love....

I know that I am not the standard parent when it comes to what music my kids listen to...they just love any music that has a good beat, and as long as it don't drop the f-word or anything super inappropriate, then I usually allow it on in the car.

That being said.....Melanie and Meredith's new favorite song is by Katy Perry and it's called "Last Friday Night". Now this song is on the edge of what I would let them listen to, but it's a fun song and they love it. There is one part where the line goes, "Pictures of last night ended up online, I'm screwed....Oh well." I wasn't that crazy about the idea of that line, and I would turn the radio down when that part came on, until one time when I missed it, so Melanie heard it. So the next time, I caught it, but my little sponge remembered what the words were from before, so when the radio was muted, I heard her in the back singing, "Pictures of last night ended up online, I'm SCROOGE....Oh well."

Meredith has been a fan of the song "Dynamite" for about a year now, so much so that she can be sound asleep in the car, the first 4 notes of the song will come on the radio, and then all of a sudden I will see a little dancer in the back of the car. While we were in New Orleans, she looked at Lulu and said, "Lulu, I fro my hands up in the air sometime." Lulu laughed, and asked her, "Well, do you also say 'Aaaaa Ohhhhh, baby let's go'?" She looked straight at Lulu and said, "No, Lulu, 'at's just a song!"

Can you say crazy?? At least they have great personalities!!!! (Nothing boring about these 2!!)

Where did she hear that??

So, as we are walking into the pool the other day, I asked Meredith a question (I can't remember what the question was, but it was a yes or no question, and she responds, "No way ho!" I stopped dead in my tracks and said, "EXCUSE ME?" I couldn't believe what she had said! So she said again, "No way ho! No way ho!" I was about to lose it when Melanie looked at me and said, "Mommy, she is trying to say, 'No way Jose!'" It's amazing how a dropped syllable completely changes a sentence!!!

Father's Day

We had a wonderful day with Daddy on Father's Day! Meredith didn't quite understand, so all she kept saying was, "Happy Mudder's Day Daddy!" We spent the day at the pool and then went home to make dinner, where we found out the power was out, so we went over to Mom Mom's to cook dinner, and Melanie spent the evening teaching Eric the correct way to play softball!! We are so lucky to have you and we love you E!!!

"The Forf of Julys"

Meredith is getting super excited about her birthday this year, and whenever someone asks her when her birthday is, she tells them, "The forf of Julys!" It's really cute. She also starts screaming out, "MY BIRFDAY FLAG!" every time she sees the American flag anywhere. Melanie started calling the flag "Meredith's birthday flag" right after she was born, and it has caught on throughout the family.....anytime any of us see something red, white, and blue, we say it's Merefitz's birthday flag or colors or whatever!
