We have a Wii bowling ringer!!

Since we got our Wii, Melanie has been playing the bowling game every now and then, but all of a sudden, in the last couple of days, she has been doing AWESOME!!! She's been doing so well that she even beat her Uncle Bobby yesterday without any help, and he clearly did not let her win!! On Facebook, Bobby even put that Melanie beat him, and my friend Megan wrote something about how excited she must be, and he wrote back to her, "She was like Tom Brady. She showed no emotion what so ever, playing it cool. She is just that calm, cool and collected." Haha, so funny!!!

Hey baby....

Meredith has been so funny lately! If she doesn't know how to say someone's name, she just calls them, "Baby." I was trying to get her to say "Lulu" for Lulu's birthday, and I said, "Where is Lulu?" and she pointed to Lulu, and I said, "Can you say Lulu?" and she just smiled and said, "Baby," and smiled. She does this with anyone's name she doesn't know! It is funny the stuff she can say, though....just this morning, she said "Wii" when Eric and Melanie were bowling, and she said "Perry" when the girls were watching Phineas and Ferb this morning!

She also loved to put her dirty dishes in the sink. I always have to make sure there's nothing breakable sitting in the sink, because whenever she finishes her plate or her cup, she goes over to the sink and just flings it in there!

Ti Tas and Co Co

This is what Meredith says to me every morning...."Mama, Ti Tas, Co Co, Ti Tas, Co Co." She is just telling me what she wants for breakfast....Tic Tacs and Diet Coke....maybe she is a supermodel in the making?? She's definitely got the beautiful part down!! She has a very limited vocabulary, but knows how to get what she wants!! It's great when you ask her a question and she just goes, "Ahh huh" (to answer yes). I love this age!

Happy Birthday to Lu!

Melanie had woken me up the last 2 mornings thinking it was Lulu's birthday, and today she was finally right!! She wanted to sing Happy Birthday to her around 7 this morning, so I recorded it on my phone and we texted Melanie singing to her. I didn't prod her or anything, I just asked her if she remembered how to sing the happy birthday song and she said yes. So I hit the record button, and she starts, "Happy Birthday to Lu, Happy Birthday to Lu, Happy Birthday to Lulu, Happy Birthday to Lu!" It was so darn cute!!! Lulu sent a text back saying that it was an awesome way to start her day!!

Going commando....

Driving down 575 today, I hear a sentence come from my 3 year old's mouth that I was not expecting, and thankfully I didn't run off the road!! She was sitting in the back, and all of a sudden I hear, "Mommy, do you remember the time I was at Courtney's house and I was going commando?" I didn't really know how to respond, but I just started laughing!!!!! She hasn't been to Courtney's house since May, and even so, how does she know what going commando means?????

Our Nightly Ritual

Every night after bath time, the girls come down stairs and we just hang out, and we also get a show! The girls get on their "stage" (which is our fireplace....so glad we bought the house that had the stacked stone) and perform for us, usually a Hannah Montana or Taylor Swift song, complete with microphones, guitars, and drumsticks! Melanie has done this for a long time, but has recently turned into a duet! It is really about the cutest thing ever, with Melanie singing off key, and Meredith just screaming along with her!

A long night.....

The night before last, we had a big ol' slumber party in our bed! The girls did not want to sleep, but once they did fall asleep, I couldn't, but it was totally worth it....so much so that I had to go get my camera to take a picture of them!! Poor Melanie.....

My birthday

My birthday is coming up next week and Melanie is just beside herself planning it. She has been searching for ladybug mixing bowls at every single Target we pass, but they are all out of stock right now from Christmas. But she has big plans for my birthday....she told me that she and Meredith are taking me to Zaxby's for a big birthday lunch, and that since she doesn't have any moneys, that we are also going to have to bring Mom Mom so that she can pay! What a stinker! She also found Twilight plates and napkins at Target, and now I get to have a Twilight birthday party. I'm not even sure how she knows what Twilight is! I mean, I've read the books and seen the movies, but I don't do that while the girls are around! Melanie is just so perceptive! I will put up pictures of my Twilight birthday next week!

Meredith's new favortie game!

Meredith's latest game is putting her blanket over her head and running around the room screaming, "Mama! Mama!" and then I have to say, "Where is Meredith?" and she rips the blanket off of her head and goes, "Me me!!" It reminds so much of Melanie when she was about that age and would hide behind the sheer curtains in our bedroom, and she would say, "Mama, Mama!" and I would have to ask "Where is Melanie?" and she would giggle, and I would have to search all around the room for her, and then I would give up, and she would come out of the curtains and say, "Here me is!"

I wish I could freeze them and keep them just like this forever!!

Melanie's boyyyyyyyfriend....

While we were at the Willis' for family dinner night earlier tonight, Melanie came running to us at top speed with some VERY important information. She put her hands on her hips and said, "Know who my boyyyyyyyyfriend is???? Noah!" and then ran away to go find him! Kristen and I just laughed, and she said something about how they already had their first kiss when we first met at the pool when they were babies....Melanie walked up to Noah, Kristen, and Ben before she was even 1 (I think Noah had just turned 1) and planted one on him! We had never even seen them before! They are too cute!

Daddy's explaination of taxes

Eric started doing our taxes last night, and Little Miss Nosy kept asking him what he was doing, so he kept telling her that he was working on or taxes, which brought on a whole other set of questions, including, "What are taxes?" and "Why do you have to do taxes?" So Eric told her that we have to give moneys to Ogama (what Melanie calls Obama) and if we don't do our taxes, then Ogama is going to send his team of Icky Bears (the IRS) to our house and take away all of her toys. She just looked at him, floored, and said, "WHAT??" like she couldn't believe that we would ever give our moneys to Ogama! He has a way of explaining things to her that make her understand completely!!

Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw

Melanie has LOVED Taylor Swift since she was teeny tiny, and I think because we had to listen to her SO MUCH while I was pregnant with Meredith, Melanie's love of Taylor Swift carried over to her little sister! So much so that whenever she is upset, all I have to do is play "Love Story" on my ipod or sing it (although I don't like subjecting the poor baby to that!) This little trick has worked since the day Meredith came home! Anyway....Melanie's favorite Taylor Swift song switches all the time, and lately her favorite song has been "Tim McGraw." So when we were watching CMT the other day, a Tim McGraw video came on, and Melanie was baffled....she looked at the t.v. and said, "Mommy, Taylor Swift looks so different in this video!" and I said, "No, sweetie, that's Tim McGraw" and she said, "Yeah, Taylor Swift sings Tim McGraw, but she looks funny in this video...she looks like a boy!" so I said, "Taylor Swift sings a song and the name of the song is 'Tim McGraw'" and she said, "I know but why does she look like a boy?" and this went on and on for about 5 minutes, and then I gave up and told her that she did look kind of funny in the video! I just had to laugh!

Goodnight Moon

This is an old story, but I was reading "Goodnight Moon" to the girls tonight, and it made me think of it....when Melanie was a little younger, we used to have to read it multiple times a night, and she learned a lot of the lines. The funniest one was when it read "a bowl full of mush" and Melanie ALWAYS said, "a bowl full of puss". Kind of gross, but cute and funny because she had no idea what she was saying!

Baby Burrito

I started doing "Baby Burrito" with Melanie when she was a baby, and now every night after bath time, I have to do it with both Melanie and Meredith. Baby Burrito is when I get them out of the tub and wrap them up real tight in their towels, and then sing the Baby Burrito song, which consists of me saying, "Baby Burrito" three times in a row, and that's it. Well, we did it tonight, and Melanie gave me a big hug and asked, "Mommy, will you come with me to college and do Baby Burrito every night?" It was SO sweet! I love my girls. :)

Cars and Baby Jesus

We definitely gave Meredith the right middle name (Wesley). She has this obsession with cars! I bought her some new jammies yesterday and she had the choice between Tinkerbell, Minnie, Princess, and Cars, and she picked Cars, and wore them proudly last night! It's really cute....

And on to Baby Jesus. I forgot about this when I was catching up on all of my stuff from last year, and I'll explain how Meredith's obsession with cars made the connection for me. Melanie absolutely loves Baby Jesus and loves that Christmas is His birthday, but she doesnt't quite understand that Jesus grew up. She thinks that He is always a baby, so during Christmas, Eric started calling Melanie "Ricky Bobby" from the movie "Talladega Nights" because there is a part in there where they talk about Baby Jesus, and someone says something about how He wasn't always a baby. Random how I remembered that....I thought it was funny!

It's really kind of scary how my mind works, isn't it??? :)

Well, we all know who Melanie gets her "love" of animals from...

Well, I know I have mentioned the "nasty cat" that lives next door to us, but last night she brought it to a whole new level. We went to Firehouse for lunch yesterday, and each of the girls got a plastic fire hat. When Eric got home from work last night, they had the fire hats on and Melanie was playing fireman, asking us if we needed help with anything. Eric tells her that he needs her to get his cat off of the tree, and she grabs a shovel and heads over to the wall next to the fireplace. She scrapes the shovel across the wall, walks back over to Eric and says, "Here's your cat. It's dead." Eric asked her if it fell out of the tree, and she says, "No, I took care of it for you." It's so messed up!!! Funny, but messed up! She really does not like cats!

Little Baby Rocky

Poor Meredith....she gets to see her first "big" snowfall, and we aren't even outside for 10 minutes when she hits her head on the fence, and ends up with an awful black eye! It was even worse the next morning when I got her out of the crib and her eye was swollen shut!

Mellie jelly bellies, milk guts, and bullet holes...

The girls seem to have an obsession with their bellies.....Melanie has a "Mellie jelly belly" and Meredith has a "milk gut". Every time we ask Meredith, "Where's your milk gut?" she lifts her shirt and slaps her belly, and then Melanie says, "Here's my Mellie jelly belly!"

Bullet holes.....this is what Melanie calls belly buttons. She asks me all the time if she can see my bullet hole. It took me a while to figure out what she was talking about when she kept asking about bullet holes!

Me, me!

Meredith has learned a new word....me. Anytime anyone asks a question that starts with the word "Who...?" she just starts going, "Me, me!" It started with vitamins, and every time we would go in to the medicine cabinet she would come running over saying, "Me, me!" and want a vitamin, and it's sort of become a game with us! We ask her random questions now, just to see if she'll say "Me!" For example, we asked her the other night, "Who wants to get dropped off at the fire station?" and she responded, "Me, me!" And last night, when we were at Mom Mom and Papa's for dinner, she and Melanie were playing on their bed, and I said to Meredith, "Who wants dinner?" and she screamed, "Me!" and went running off the bed in to Mom Mom's arms (it was a good thing she was standing right there!) Later, after bath time, Mom Mom asked her who wanted a bottle, and she just said, "Me!" and wrapped her arms around her neck an wouldn't let go! It's so funny!
