I will admit it.....bad words probably slip out of my mouth more often than they should. I don't do it intentionally, but when I get smacked in the face, or get rammed into the counter, or I trip over a room full of toys, something slips. I had such a slip the other day with Meredith. Something happened, and I accidentally said "Oh sh*t!!" So all of a sudden, I hear my little 2 year old parrot running around screaming, "Sh*t! Sh*t! Sh*t, Mommy, sh*t!" Uh oh.....so considering the fact that she was saying this less than a half hour before we were supposed to leave for church, I decided to have a talk with her. This is how the conversation went:
Me: Meredith, that is a very bad word. Mommy shouldn't have said that, and I don't want you to say it, either.
Meredith: Okay, Mommy. I no say sh*t no more. I say damn it instead. Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! It ok I say damn it instead Mommy?
(This is the point in the conversation where I just sort of drop my head into my hands because, 1. I'm ashamed that my baby talks like this, and 2. I don't want her to see me laughing.)
We discussed how damn it isn't a nice word, either, and thankfully we made it through church without and major incidents. I have become VERY careful about my words around that little munchkin now, too!
