Well, between vacation and the craziness of our two little munchkins, I haven't had much time to get on here and write, but I have been trying to keep a running list of all the funny things the girls have been doing recently.
I'll start with Melanie. We went to Chicago a couple weeks ago to visit all of my family and Melanie had kind of a rough week, but there were some funny parts. She was lying in bed next to Mom Mom the one morning and she was, disgustingly enough, picking her nose. Mom told her to stop picking her nose, and she looked at her, very serious, and said, "I'm not picking my nose. I am just trying to get all the boogers out." Lovely....
She also went out shopping to bring back a present for Daddy from Chicago, and she brought him "Simsums girls pants." It's a pair of St. Patrick's Day Simpsons boxer shorts, but now she is constantly asking Eric if he is wearing his "Simsums girl pants." He's the only guy I know who wears girl pants :) but he's a good sport about it!!
The other night Melanie was talking about how Mommy is a girl, Melanie is a girl, and Meredith is a girl, but Daddy is a boy, so I asked her how she knew Daddy was a boy, mainly just to see how she differentiated between boys and girls. She looked at me, with a "Duh, Mommy" look and said, "Because he has no hair to play with." That's how she tells the difference between boys and girls...their hair. I love it!
Melanie, as I have mentioned in previous posts, is quite the expert at Wii bowling, and it's really cute because she calls the bowling frames "picture frames." She always is asking if this is the last picture frame. Eric's mom and dad came over the other night and she wanted to show Grandma and Grandpa how well she can bowl, and she schooled them in bowling! That was bad enough, but then she started calling her grandpa "Suzy"......that didn't do much for his confidence! He would stand up to bowl, and she would be sitting there saying things like, "Come on Suzy!" or "I'm beating you Suzy!" She's so silly.....
On to Meredith. I feel like I talk more about Melanie in these posts, but Meredith is really starting to come in to her own. She wants to be just like her big sister. Everything that Melanie does, she wants to do. Everything that Melanie has, Meredith wants. It's really cute and sweet, and Melanie is so sweet to her. They had their "Ca cars" phones in the car earlier, and Meredith dropped hers where I couldn't reach it while I was driving, so Melanie gave her phone to her baby sister. They are so loving to each other (most of the time!) One of the things Melanie likes to do in the kitchen is snap green beans with me, and Meredith has decided that she wants to do that, too, but instead of snapping the ends off, she bites them off and spits them out! It sounds kind of gross, but it's actually very cute. She is starting to talk a whole lot more, but her favorite words are "ca car" and "pee pee" which stands for Snoopy. We even had to buy Mom Mom a "pee pee" flag for her birthday, and every time we drive up to Mom's house, Meredith just shouts our, "Pee pee!"
Meredith also loves to eat. She would eat all day if she could. Lately she has been loving strawberries! So much so that when she is done, she licks her plate. She did it the one time and Melanie looked at me and said, "Meredith is definitely Daddy's girl." I asked her why, and she said, "She licks her plate when she's all done!"
They are too funny!!
